The Global Day of Prayer Event

The Global Day of Prayer which takes place on 23rd May this year in Cape Town is very unique in the Christian calendars, as the Eastern Orthodox tradition of “Kneeling Day” and the Western tradition of “Pentecost Sunday” converge on the same day. Thus the 10 year celebration of the GDOP is very significant in that many hundreds of millions of Christians globally will kneel simultaneously in a day of repentance and united prayer before God, trusting for the glory of God to cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.
